Planning, Monitoring & Control of Work Processes Now from a Single Source: Peter Köppel New Chief Operating Officer

Modern operation management is an important element to create the highest level of efficiency within an organization. Becker Avionics appoints Peter Köppel as Chief Operating Officer and entrust him with process-optimized planning, control and monitoring of production workflows.

With Mr. Köppel, the company adds a senior manager with over 30 years of experience in the aviation industry. He has a hand-on background in a wide range of optimization and supplier monitoring activities. His aim is to raise the value chain in production to a modern level, allowing Becker Avionics as a mid-sized company to implement an efficient production process.

Mr. Köppel joined Becker Avionics at the beginning of his professional career as a quality engineer. He quickly worked his way up as Head of Production, responsible for the area of materials management, work preparation, production and special plant engineering.  After stations as Technical Manager and Accountable Manager of Holmberg GmbH & CoKG, where he transformed a regional company with strong traditions to an industrial organization and positioned the company as an overall Single Source Tier First Supplier of Airbus. The last position held before returning to his roots as Becker Avionics was that of Managing Director of Peiker AVIATRONIC GmbH.

Commenting on his appointment, he said: “Becker Avionics consists of an excellent team made of many individual disciplines. One of the things that excite me will be the optimization of internal processes in terms of quality, cost, output and productivity. I am very much looking forward to contributing my analytical skills and KPI orientation towards making a significant contribution to the advancement of Becker Avionics and its customers. ”

Managing Director Hans Joachim Venrath adds: “Peter Köppel has an extensive knowledge of national and international aviation legislation and he is familiar with the relevant topics of our industry. His responsibilities will include the introduction of a new ERP system that will help Becker Avionics to create the highest level of efficiency and to support agile methods, with the long-term goal of significantly reducing administrative tasks and labor-intensive operations. ”
